hi

My name is Wei, and I am a PhD candidate in anthropology at Princeton University. Broadly, I am interested in the political economy of moral, ethical, and political projects as articulated through philanthropic formations. I call this philanthroactivism.

I am currently at work on my dissertation, tentatively titled Funding Asian America: Philanthroactivism, Racial Empowerment, and the Price of Justice.

Places I have called home:
Nanjing, China
Lincoln, Nebraska
Lafayette, Louisiana
Durham, North Carolina
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
New York, New York
Princeton, New Jersey
Washington, D.C.

Experiences I have called work:
9-5-er (qualitative researcher)
bartender (slash writer)
entrepreneur (three little birds)
(assistant) (to a) changemaker (I worked for a nonprofit)

I want to be an anthropologist when I grow up.
